Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara, OC was born March 4 1954. She is a comedian from Canada actor, writer, and actress. O'Hara has been the recipient of numerous awards which include one Genie Award and a Golden Globe Award. O'Hara also won two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, six Canadian Screen Awards, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. In 2018, she was elected as an Officer of Canada. She was also presented with the Governor General’s Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Medal in 2020. O'Hara was first noticed as an actor in the year 1974 as she was a part of The Second City improvisational comedy troupe in Toronto. Together with John Candy (1975-1978), she was part of the primary casting in the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). In the following year, O'Hara and Candy began working in the sketch comedy show Second City Television (1976-1984) and she earned the attention of critics for both her work as a comic actress and as a writer, securing a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for the Variety Series in 1981. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the newly formed Second City artistic advisory board led by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
